It’s #NationalBeerDay let’s celebrate! Let us treat you to a unique interview with one of our favorite local hot spots – Panther Island Brewery. If you are ever in the Fort Worth, Texas area do us a favor and stop by to see our bearded brewery friends! They are a creative group of people who have come up with some amazing craft beers!
What goes into brewing awesome beer?
Brewing beer may seem like a few steps but each step could fill the pages of an entire book. It’s more than just a simple scientific method, it’s an art. A lot of time and effort goes into making a beer that not only tastes great but is also a unique flavor and experience for those drinking it! It’s a lot like cooking your favorite recipe, there are steps to follow but adding your own personal touch is what changes it from ordinary to EXTRAORDINARY!!
What is it like to work at the brewery?
Honestly it doesn’t feel like work! When you combine doing something you love and working with great people it makes it something you look forward to everyday. Here at the brewery we are more than co-workers, we have become like family. Yes we work hard to make awesome craft beer but we also have a lot of fun doing it.
What flavors do you brew and what’s your personal favorite?
Alergeez – is an American wheat with a deep golden and hazy appearance. This beer features flavorful Texas honey from Rogers, chamomile flowers, rose hips, and vanguard hops. Each sip presents a honey-chamomile nose and middle with a slight spice from the rose hips and hops throughout. American Wheat Ale ABV 5.7% IBU 16
Cannonball – This Scottish style strong ale showcases amazing malts with a wonderful deep ruby red color. A roasty nose reveals a chocolaty middle with a hint of sweetness. East Kent Goldings hops complement specialty malts, caramel, chocolate, and roasted barley. Scotch Strong Ale ABV 8.0% IBU 20
Real Good – This is the perfect beer for people transitioning into the wonderful world of craft beer. Real Good is an unfiltered cream ale with a light golden and hazy appearance. It has a malty nose with subtle hints of crystal hops. This light-bodied beer features a slight kick of hops and a clean dry finish. American Cream Ale ABV 4.8% IBU 4
Ipf’nA – This Imperial IPA boasts a huge malt bill to balance the bitterness of Ahtanum hops. A nice caramel middle blends citrusy hops, cracked coriander, and a mellow citrusy zest creating a beautifully balanced IPA. Careful, It’ll getch’ya! Imperial Indian Pale Ale ABV 10% IBU 97
My personal favorite is the Alergeez. It won Silver at the GABF last year. We also won Fan Favorite Best Beer 2016 from BB&B.
Yes, in the local Ft. Worth and Dallas area. There are a lot of reasons that Ft. Worth is an awesome place to visit and we want to be one of those reasons!
Does Panther Island give tours?
Every Friday night from 5 to 9 grab your mother, father, dog, pet squirrel, and your better half for a night of refreshment’s and beer knowledge. With beer in hand, everyone gathers around the janitor aka head brewer aka Ryan at 7:30 for a well-informed Q&A of how Ryan crafts such glorious one-of-a-kind beers.
What’s the vibe like on a Friday night at the brewery?
A refreshing yet cool and relaxed environment. Your guaranteed to have good time combined with epic beverages. We established and designed the taproom with the intent of providing an escape for the working man and women. A place where you can break away from the hustle and bustle of the hectic city life. Pretty much anyone and anything can enter our world of good times and leave with a pleasurable satisfying experience here at Panther Island Brewery.
