Preparing For The Unexpected: On-The-Go Wellness Kit

What’s that sound? Oh, it’s just my family getting the sniffles. It’s that time of year when the kids bring home all kinds of germs from school and we start using up our sick days. It inevitably happens that we get sick at the WORST possible time.

On our recent trip to Las Vegas, I started out sick, I had to take in the sights from my hotel room. A few days later my husband came down with the same stuff. I had desperately wished I could have access to my medicine cabinet at home, it has everything I would need to find some relief.

Our family is always on-the-go. Whether we are off on some adventures or just busy with our daily routine. I decided it was time to be better prepared for our future trips together. My new motto is “hope for the best but prepare for the worst”.

It was on my list of things to do when we returned home to make my very useful medicine into an on-the-go one. My creative little girls came up with the idea to call it a Get Well Kit. We have decided this would be a great gift for our other traveling and busy friends.

First I had to visit my local Kroger to get all the necessary items. Stocking up on my wellness needs would have to be both easy and affordable. Kroger has great savings on these products!

Here are a few of the items I purchased. I wanted to be able to treat an assortment of symptoms. TYLENOL® Cold + Flu Severe Day/Night has always been one of our trusted go-to items. It’s an all in one Cold and Flu symptom relief and the #1 doctor recommended pain relief brand. It goes where we go!

As if being sick isn’t bad enough, it’s frustrating when feeling bad also robs me of my much-needed sleep. I added Breathe Right nasal strips because it opens your nose up to 38% more than decongestant sprays alone!

Because this is an on-the-go kit, I wanted to add easily used products like the Theraflu Daytime Powders. How easy would it be to transfer a few of these powder packs to your purse for the day! It’s nice to have powerful relief without having to have a prescription.

To finish up the items I would need to complete my kit, I added HALLS Mentholyptus, which helps to cool nasal passages. I always remember my grandmother carrying HALLS around with her everywhere she went and now I understand why! She was ready to provide relief for an unexpected sore throat anytime we complained of having one.

Of course, Kleenex tissue is a sick person’s best friend! If you have kids you know how quickly they complain about their bright red noses, we buy Kleenex because we know how soft and dependable they are.

Let me share a TIP for traveling and taking care of your health. Hotel rooms are known for being a host to many types of germs. We come prepared with our own hand soap. Dial Complete kills 99.9% of germs and gives me peace of mind!

Now I’m ready to hit the road and take on the unexpected!
