Let me start off by saying the Dominican Republic is a place I’d love to return to! We had so much fun and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We attended my dad’s wedding there and he had an amazing ceremony right on the beach. I would highly suggest it as a location for a destination wedding!

The best part about staying at the Hard Rock is that there is something for everyone to enjoy. There is golf, the Casino, and the Rock Spa (I highly suggest the hot stone massage) plenty of things for the adults to enjoy.
There are also many activities for the kids. We loved the Mini-Golf and the Arcade Center. The Little Big Club is a great place for the kids to have some fun. They have activities throughout the week and live shows with all your favorite characters like Barney, Angelina Ballerina, Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine! This really was a highlight for our 3 small children!

While we were there we also booked a few additional excursions. We took a boat tour that had music, drinks, and plenty of fun! We were able to go snorkeling which was a super cool way to explore the DR. One day we took a dune buggy adventure that led us to some caves which were neat to walk around and swim in. My oldest daughter who was six at the time was able to enjoy this activity and she even got to make a new monkey friend!

The hotel is stunning. We enjoyed just walking around and taking pictures.
One thing I wasn’t particularly fond of at the Hard Rock Hotel was the food. There are PLENTY of options available I just found there was a focus on quantity rather than quality.
There were so many more things we could have done and that’s why I say I plan to return. One thing that stood out to me about the Dominican Republic is how nice everyone was. The people had smiles on their faces and were always so upbeat! I can’t wait to go back one day and interact more with the locals!
How do you feel about traveling with your kids to attend a destination wedding?
