Why I Fell In Love With Buena Vista, Colorado
My husband, I recently traveled to Buena Vista, Colorado. I was looking forward to scouting out some family-friendly locations to bring the whole family to. What I didn’t think or expect to happen was that I would fall in love with the little town of Buena Vista. Every morning as the sun was rising, my husband and I would walk around and imagine what it would be like to raise a family here. Buena Vista is located at the foot of the Continental Divide, it truly is one-of-kind.
Buena Vista is Spanish for “good view” and how fitting. When you are there you are surrounded by beautiful mountains all around you. Our favorite activity in this town was the hiking. I wanted to hike to every possible spot just to get a picture of how breathtakingly beautiful this area was! We started our days and ended our days hiking around and I would highly recommend you do the same.
Buena Vista is considered to be one of the best whitewater rafting locations in the United States. The Arkansas River is adjacent to town. Not only is there the option for whitewater rafting but also fly-fishing! We came a little late for snowmobile riding but they also have miles of groomed snowmobile trails that would be fun to explore during the winter months. We also enjoyed taking a dip in the Cottonwood Hot Springs, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
A Unique Town To Visit
We stayed at the beautiful Surf Chateau located on the bank of the Arkansas River. There are many restaurants and boutiques that are within walking distance of the Surf Chateau. The elegant design and stunning views will make you want to return again and again in the future!
When I return to Buena Vista with my family I won’t want to change a thing from our recent trip there. I will treasure this town in my memories until we meet again!
