Have you ever walked into your closet and thought to yourself “I have too many clothes” or walked into your child’s messy room and said “You have too many toys”? I was guilty of saying this often, but I couldn’t seem to find the time or motivation to declutter each room in my home.

These are just a few reasons why you should challenge yourself to declutter your home, vehicles, and office space.
What if I told you that you could declutter your home in 30 days? My family and I started this year with a new phrase to keep us going “LESS IS MORE“. I have this phrase framed (print your copy here) and hung on our wall, it’s a constant reminder that less stuff = less mess and stress!
Our family sat down and talked about ways we could declutter each room. I was determined that we would make a goal and stick to it. That’s when we came up with a ‘30 Days Of Giving Away Challenge‘ for our family. Everyday for thirty days we would each chose an item to give away, it had to be something we could donate, not something that belonged in the trash a year ago!
We are a family of five, this meant that 30 items x 5 people = 150 items! When you think about it, that’s a lot of stuff we could donate and it would help us declutter our home. It was also a great time to encourage our children to help others. Everyday when they would pick their item to donate we would ask them to imagine how happy another kid or family would be to receive that item. Never miss an opportunity to teach your children the importance of giving.
After the 30 days our whole family agreed that this was a great way to declutter our home! We decided to continue doing this challenge every 3 months. Encourage your family to spend 30 days giving away!
